Launched in 2004 as a part of six-country six year South Asian initiative, We Can Campaign in Nepal started with an objective and aim of ending Violence against women. It strongly promoted the positive message that violence is neither acceptable nor inevitable and that ordinary women and men have the capacity to end it. We Can Campaign Nepal at this stage has reached out to 650 village development committees (VDCs) in 44 districts of Nepal among 75 districts and more than 1000 associations of educational institutions in this area. At present stage there are fifty-five organizations associated with this campaign and its issues. Fundamental to the strength of We Can- the “Change Makers” have been formed and active whose counts have reached more than One Hundred Thousand across the country. These Change Makers are the individuals who voluntarily commit to end VAW by leading personal and societal change.
